In other words, if Windows did not draw anything, TeamViewer cannot grab the. TeamViewer grabs the screen as it is currently displayed. 3) Nothing is drawn anymore (screen is black). browser content or 3D applications / games) are no longer drawn (you cannot see the application). But it is also greyed out so that I can't change the option. 2) Window contents that are drawn hardware-accelerated (e.g. Hope this helps :) EDIT: If the 'Close to tray menu' is grayed out, try the following solution: The reason the 'Close To tray Menu' is grayed out is because you have 'Start teamviewer with windows'. Under Advanced Options, there is an item labeled "Close to Tray Menu" and it is checked. Check this box to have Teamviewer minimize to the notification area, after clicking the X (exit button). But I want it in the System Tray (notification area), not the Taskbar. Is there a way to get the previous functionality back to minimize to System Tray (notification area) instead of close? The minimize button still does the normal expected action of minimizing to the Taskbar. When I click on the X to close the Teamviewer window so it will minimize to the System Tray (notification area) it now wants to exit the whole application and so it will ask me if I want to close all my connections. For a long time I was unable to start TeamViewer minimized with Windows startup. Otherwise it is a stacked view and I have to choose which window to restore. I like it minimized so that I can quickly go back to the Remote session window by just clicking once on the remaining Taskbar icon. Which would simply minimize that window to the System Tray (notification area, sometimes called the Tasktray or systray) and off my Taskbar in Windows 8.1 Desktop view. And so I would simply click on the X in the top-right to close that window. ![]() ![]() Reason: Topic automatically closed 6 months after creation. Deactivate did not work with Teamviewer, so I removed all 3 Teamviewer exeplars not knowing what would happen, e.g. Having the following options: deactivate and delete. The window labeled "Teamviewer" which shows menu items of Connection, Extras, Help. Just kill the teamviewer service under task manager. For some unknown reason, Teamviewer is triple on the application list. And by default the main window would also be open. And this latest update to 4 now won't let me close the main window.īefore I would connect to a remote computer or multiple computers. That was 20 years ago! Surely they could do better today without requiring Microsoft account BS.I just updated my TeamViewer 9, which I keep up to date all the time. Granted it was more of a pain in the a$$ to set up, but we're talking Windows XP here. Download the file here (no virus, or spam. I mean, hell, even Windows XP had this feature and you didn't need an account in order to use it. 1 One possible way of doing this, without the TeamViewer Panel showing up at all (with this the controlled computer cannot close the connection unless they exit TeamViewer) is to use a 3rd party software or application. The use of open source video-conferencing software. Yes, I can see them requiring you to sign up for an account IF you want delivery just like Microsoft is justified requiring you to sign up for an account IF you want to pay for their cloud backup services, but if not then you shouldn't be required to sign up for a Microsoft account to use something as simple as a remote support app. minimized for potential users, particularly those in instrument-poor. Now just click on Teamviewer in the systemtray and you see the remote program and the computer and contact. Its reload automaticly, but your computer and contacts will be gone in the toolbar. Just kill the teamviewer service under task manager. Yeah, I know they want you to pay for their delivery service, but you should be able to use your refrigerator regardless whether you paid for delivery or went and got your groceries yourself. With the newer versions, teamviewers computer and contact stays in the toolbar. Requiring you to sign up with a Microsoft account in order to use your computer is as stupid as DoorDash or Instacart requiring you to sign in to your refrigerator in order to open it. I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from Microsoft, which is the ONLY reason they want me to sign up with an account. If you accidentally close TeamViewer with this option enabled, TeamViewer keeps running and is just minimized to the notification area of the taskbar. The Close to tray menu will be forcefully enabled if you select the start with Windows option, but this is the option that will save you from accidentally closing TeamViewer on the remote system. I don't use QuickAssist because I refuse to use a Microsoft account.
